Welcome to the Parlor

As I dreamed about starting Grazing Parlor, my grandparent’s kept popping in my mind. Particularly mine and my husband’s grandmothers. I kept thinking about what amazing cooks they were, never following a recipe. And how much they enjoyed making homecooked meals from scratch, taking their time...never seeming rushed in the kitchen but treating it like their sanctuary. My Grandmother, Clara Mae, grew most of her food in her garden and canned enough goods to live off of for a decade without ever going to the grocery. I have been extra grateful lately for the time I got in the kitchen with them and plan to incorporate some of our family recipes into Grazing Parlor’s menu. Another thing all of these wonderful ladies you see pictured had in common was their weekly trip to the beauty parlor. They would go, religiously, once a week to get their hair washed or permed. And their beauty parlors were like their second homes; filled with friends, stories, laughs. My hope is that as Grazing Parlor gains establishment, it can serve as your beauty parlor. Offering you a place to gather with friends, to share stories and laughs with one another...while enjoying wholesome food and fine wine.
